Determine the height and width of the hole in your pocket. Measure within the existing frame, and not between the stops holding the leaf (you must open the lower flap for measurement). Measure the height of the left, middle and right sides of the window. Measure the width of the top, middle and bottom. When ordering windows, use the minimum height and width measurements. See how to use roulette? Tips for conducting accurate measurements.
Do not continue until you have new windows and measure them to make sure that they are all right.

Lowe will calculate the exact size of the replacement window for your application. Typically, new windows should be 1/2 to 3/4 inches smaller than the hole.
Delete old window
Windows is built in different ways, so the steps necessary to uninstall Windows may vary. Sometimes it is better to remove the sash from the inside, but for existing windows in this project it is easier to work from the outside.
Houses built before 1978 may contain lead paint. Contact a specialist for assistance.
If you have a storm window, first remove it. You can remove some storm windows by lifting them from the channel. Others may need to remove the screws holding the storm window in place.
Perform a Paint evaluation along the Storm Window frame.
Use the cleaning knives along the edge of the storm window frame, remove the screw and remove the frame using a pin or spatula. At this stage, drawing a few tools (sometimes called 5-in-1 tools) also helps.
Remove all existing sashes.
If your old windows are older, you may need a sash or a sash.
If your window has weight, cut off the rope and let the weight fall into the frame.
If there is a leaf in your window, carefully delete it (to the right of the picture). Raise the sash at the top of the window. Springs can have plastic covers, if possible, disconnect them. If you can not remove them, they will fall when the spring is removed. Remove the screw holding the spring in place.
The spring leaf is in tension and can snap into the belt. Be careful with springs and plastic covers.
A graph showing an external stop, a separate stop and an internal stop.
Identify any stops in the existing window. The old wooden window keeps the sash in place: an internal stop, a dock between the two doors and an external stop. If you are installing from the inside, remove the internal stop and leave the external stop in place. If you install from the outside, like this element, remove the external stop, but leave the internal stop in place.
When installing the window from the outside, remove the existing outer and upper doors.
Use a knife blade to score, where the stop corresponds to the frame. You can open them. If you can not clean the partitions cleanly, they can be embedded in the frame and must be cut using an oscillating saw. Let the saw blade work and draw attention to the position of the nail. Remove the upper leaf.
After removing the upper leaf, remove the septum and the lower leaf.
Remove the partition and the lower leaf.
Fill all holes with a wooden filler and make sure that you have solid wood, you can screw a new window into the frame. If it is found that the wood is damaged or rotten, remove it and cut out the wood for replacement. Insert new parts using screws and wood glue.

If your window has a weight room, fill the insulation before installing a new window.
Install new window
Clean the hole. If necessary, use a workshop vacuum cleaner to remove all dust and debris.
Apply the flash tape to the window sill.
Apply a waterproof tape to the threshold. It should correspond to the length of the window sill and extend to the vertical leg of the chair (the bottom edge of the inside of the window). Do not forget to put it in the corner of the chair.
If necessary, fix the rug on the windowsill to make sure it is even.
Make sure that the threshold value is level and make sure there are no bends. Use delimiters to create a threshold level (on the right), if necessary. Make sure they are properly installed for proper alignment and secure them with screws and a waterproof tape to prevent movement.
When temporarily placing a new window there should be a small gap around the window frame.
Drying comes to a new window in the hole. There should be a small gap between the frame. Turn off the window.
A large window can be heavy. Get the mobile version and support it during the installation process.
The joints around the window open on the windowsill, on the windowsill and on the windowsill.
Apply a 3/8 inch silicone sealant to the inner head (top of the frame), the stopper and the window sill. See how to fill in the gaps to learn how to create a gag.
Insert the gasket around the frame into the hole in the hole
